Facebook Messenger will extend its home screen ads beta worldwide, reported VentureBeat. According to the report, the ads will be similar to the user-targeted advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. The Messenger home screen allows you to access recent chats and contacts, and the advertisements will reportedly appear between conversation threads.
Messenger head of product Stan Chudnovsky said the advertisements will follow an auction-based model and Facebook will “start slow” with their implementation.
The home screen ads beta has already been implemented in Thailand and Australia, and is expected to roll out worldwide by the end of 2017.
