Broadband has been restored to thousands of homes in the area after it stopped working earlier today. Sky Broadband and Sky Talk customers near Yeovil2, Sherborne3 and Crewkerne4 were left without either internet or landline phone use following an unknown fault. However, this has now been restored, after “activity from BT Openreach”, although Sky declined to comment as to why the service went down.
The service was down for thousands of homes for at least 12 hours.
A spokesperson for Sky posted online at 4.20am today (December 2):
“You might not be able to get online or make/ receive phone calls due to a problem in your local area.
“We’re working on fixing the problem and we’ll provide an update once we’ve discovered what is causing the fault.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
