NOW Broadband offers cheap broadband deals without a contract

NOW Broadband offers cheap broadband deals without a contract

You know the deal, if you want cheap unlimited broadband you’ll have to commit to at least a 12-month contract. Well, not anymore. There’s a new provider in town offering contract-free broadband that stacks up price-wise against the very cheapest deals available anywhere in the UK.

NOW Broadband comes from the people who brought you NOW TV and offers ‘Brilliant Broadband with speeds up to 17Mbps from GBP18 a month, with the ability to cancel whenever you like as there’s no minimum term contract. There are no calls included in this, or indeed any NOW Broadband deals, as standard but you can add evening and weekend calls for GBP4 or anytime calls for GBP8. In fact the only drawback to this offer is that you’ll have to part with a rather hefty GBP59.99 upfront in order to get the whole thing up and running.

Although, having said that, that’s only the same as NOW TV’s parent company Sky is charging to connect customers to fibre. If basic ‘Brilliant’ broadband isn’t going to be fast enough for you, NOW Broadband is also offering the same two tiers of fibre broadband you can get from most providers – ‘Fab Fibre’ offers speeds up to 38Mbps for GBP25 a month and ‘Super Fibre’ gives you up to 76Mbps for GBP35. Both also carry a GBP59.99 upfront charge.

Save on upfront costs by committing to 12 months

Maybe you don’t mind being tied in to a 12-month contract.

After all, many providers offer 18-month deals now and your mobile contract is probably longer than that. In that case, you can save yourself GBP35 off that upfront fee by committing to NOW Broadband for a year, although the monthly price stays the same. After 12 months, no matter which package you’re on, Brilliant Broadband goes up to GBP25.99 a month, it’s GBP35.99 for Fab Fibre and GBP43.99 for Super Fibre.

Those of you familiar with the broadband and streaming TV markets (you know who you are) will know that NOW TV isn’t exactly new to the broadband game as it launched a bundled broadband, TV and phone package back in July 2016. The crucial difference is that you can now get no-contract broadband without having to bundle it in with a NOW TV pass, although you can still do that if you want to. Choices!

If you get NOW Broadband through, you’ll be able to add the NOW TV Entertainment Pass for just GBP4.99 a month – a saving of GBP3 on the usual monthly price, whether you sign up for 12 months or not and no matter which broadband speed you go for. As we said at the start, NOW Broadband holds its own against the cheapest broadband deals on the market right now. In terms of the monthly price it’s only matched by Sky, which is also offering speeds up to 17Mbps for GBP18 a month.

Sky’s offer also comes with GBP50 cashback and a GBP9.95 upfront cost. In terms of fibre broadband, Vodafone is way ahead of the competition when it comes to unlimited packages, offering superfast speeds up to 38Mbps for just GBP20 a month and even faster speeds (up to 76Mbps) for GBP24 a month, with nothing to pay upfront. But Vodafone will tie you into an 18-month contract, and that’s exactly why NOW Broadband’s offer is so appealing.
