Federal Task Force Makes Broadband a Priority in Helping Rural Economic Revival
“We have just signed into law the most significant tax cuts and reforms in American History – a total of £5.5 trillion dollars in tax cuts, with most of those benefits going to working families, small businesses and family farmers”, Trump said to a supportive crowd. Trump made a small mention of NAFTA, saying his administration is working to renegotiate NAFTA to make the agreement better for agriculture. Trump unveiled the effort at the annual convention of the American Farm Bureau Federation, promising the administration was taking giant steps toward bringing neglected rural communities into the modern era. Following what the president described as “relentless intrusion from an army of regulators at the EPA, the FDA, and countless other federal agencies”, Trump claimed that, under his administration, 1,500 planned regulatory actions or assaults have been cancelled or delayed; while “22 regulations have been cut for every one new regulation” so far.
Then, flanked by Tennessee lawmakers and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Mr. Trump signed two executive orders created to increase the reach of broadband into rural areas and to support broadband tower facilities in rural America. Thousands of people showed up at the Opryland Hotel as the president spoke at the Annual American Farm Bureau Federation’s Convention. Farmers have grown increasingly anxious with President Donald Trump, who wooed them with promises of deregulation and then threatened to upend programs on which many depend.
Some even wore red Trump hats emblazoned with variations on the “Make America Great Again” slogan. “I support a bill that includes crop insurance”. “While other sectors of the American economy have largely recovered from the Great Recession, rural America has lagged in nearly every indicator”, says a new report from the Trump Administration.

Trump Vows ‘Strong Look’ at Libel Laws
Some of the details in the book have since come into question, but that didn’t stop Trump and his administration from lashing out. The president’s comments about the news media on Wednesday also extended to one of his favorite punching bags: network news.
In the press conference, Duvall also talked about what he will say during his time with President Trump today. An estimated 7,000 farmers, ranchers and others involved in agriculture will attend the week-long event. And every Democrat in Congress, Trump noted, “voted against tax cuts for the American farmer and the American worker”.
The president is also generating applause with his calls for the American flag and the national anthem to be “respected”. “Farm country is God’s country“, Trump said to a standing ovation as he closed out his remarks to the farming convention crowd. According to the White House, one order instructed the Department of the Interior to dedicate assets toward rural broadband installation.
