TalkTalk offers broadband and TV deals for Black Friday
TalkTalk is offering basic TV at no extra cost to anyone signing up to a broadband deal during its Black Friday event. From today until 30 November basic broadband from TalkTalk offering speeds up to 17Mbps is GBP18.95 a month on a 12-month contract with no set-up fee. And for no extra cost you can add a TalkTalk TV Box, which gives you more than 70 Freeview channels and on-demand TV, but not the ability to record shows.
There is the option to upgrade this package to include TV Plus for an extra GBP6 a month, taking your monthly total to GBP24.95. TV Plus lets you record shows and includes premium entertainment channels like Comedy Central, Sky 1, Sky Living and GOLD. If basic (ADSL) broadband isn’t going to be enough for you TalkTalk is offering fibre broadband, which gives you speeds up to 38Mbps and most often a more reliable connection, for GBP25 a month and no set-up fee.
This comes with a longer 18-month contract and again, if you want to add a basic TV box with Freeview channels you can no for extra charge. To upgrade to TV Plus and its extra entertainment channels it’s an extra six quid, so GBP31 a month for 18 months.
Kids bundle with Kids TV remote
If you’ve got young kids, TV might be more important to you than internet speeds. If this is making sense, maybe TalkTalk had you in mind when it created its other Black Friday deal.
You can get basic broadband with TV Plus – that’s the extra channels and a box that can record programmes – with Kids Boost and a Kids Remote for GBP27.95. The Kids Remote is designed for young children and lets them safely watch their favourite shows without pestering you every time they get to the end of an episode. One press of the remote locks them into the TalkTalk Kids Zone, which you can customise so they’ll only be able to watch what you’ve already decided is ok for them.
To get out of the Kids Zone, you just enter a passcode using your regular TalkTalk TV remote. The Kids Zone also has a bedtime feature that will countdown for five minutes before the Kids Zone goes to sleep. Parents will know how things can get if Paw Patrol or Peppa Pig gets interrupted so the five minute countdown stretches or shortens depending on how long is left on an episode.
