Skype pulled from Chinese app stores
Apple has removed Skype from the App Store in China, reported the New York Times. It said China’s Ministry of Public Security informed the company that a number of VoIP apps do not comply with local laws. “Therefore these apps have been removed from the App Store in China,” said Apple.
The Chinese government has disrupted voice and video calling in the past.
Microsoft said the Skype app has been temporarily removed from the App Store and it is working on getting it reinstated.
