Samsung denied Supreme Court appeal for slide-to-unlock patent case

The US Supreme Court has declined to hear Samsung’s appeal to a ruling regarding Apple’s patents on several features, reported Mashable[1]. The order of a lower court that Samsung pay Apple £119.6 million in damages for multiple infringements therefore stands. Among the patents was the slide-to-unlock feature.

The case also involved patents on features such as turning data into links – like tapping a phone number to dial it.

According to the report, the fight between Apple and Samsung is not over.

A court still has to determine how much of a £399-million settlement Samsung has to pay for allegedly infringing on Apple designs.
