68.5% of Kodi users are pirates – MPAA
The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) has stated that 68.5% of all Kodi users are pirates of movies, TV shows, and other media. TorrentFreak reported that the MPAA made the statement during a meeting of the Copyright Alliance. It said it estimates there are 38 million users of Kodi in the world, of which 26 million have piracy add-ons installed.
The statement follows a report from Sandvine which found that 6.5% of households in North America are communicating with known TV piracy services.
“This translates to seven million subscribers and many more potential viewers,” stated the report.
