Telefonica Colombia posts 10% OIBDA growth
Telefonica Colombia reported second-quarter revenues up 0.8 percent from a year earlier to EUR 368 million on an organic basis, consolidating its recent return to growth. Operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) was up 9.7 percent year on year to EUR 124 million, with mobile service revenues also increasing, by 2.8 percent, to EUR 194 million in Q2 driven by a 40 percent year on year rise in data revenues. Capital expenditure was down 36.8 percent to EUR 56 million, mostly spent on TV licence renewal, improvement of the fixed broadband network FTTH network launch and deployment.
The operator’s total customer base at the end of June came to 16.6 million, up 2.8 percent year-on-year, with mobile accesses growing 4.1 percent to 13.8 million.
Fixed accesses fell by 5.1 percent to 1.33 million at the end of the quarter with retail broadband accesses dipping 3.4 percent to 969,000.
However, broadband revenues were up 14.5 percent year on year, with broadband ARPU growing by 18.7 percent to EUR 11.1 as customers were pushed towards higher value plans.
