New iPhone will have “infrared face unlock” – Report
Apple has accidentally released the firmware for its HomePod, which contained details about the company’s upcoming iPhone, The Verge reported. The firmware revealed that the next iPhone will have infrared face unlock in the BiometricKit, with developer Steve Troughton-Smith posting screenshots of the relevant strings in the firmware. He also posted images from the firmware which appear to reveal a bezel-less form factor for the next iPhone.
Apple is expected to launch it latest iPhone – rumoured to be the iPhone 8 – later this year.
Other rumoured new features are a glass-back design and wireless charging.
