New iPhone will have “infrared face unlock” – Report

Apple has accidentally released the firmware for its HomePod, which contained details about the company’s upcoming iPhone, The Verge reported[1]. The firmware revealed that the next iPhone will have infrared face unlock in the BiometricKit, with developer Steve Troughton-Smith[2] posting screenshots of the relevant strings in the firmware. He also posted images from the firmware which appear to reveal a bezel-less form factor for the next iPhone.

Apple is expected to launch it latest iPhone – rumoured to be the iPhone 8 – later this year.

Other rumoured new features are a glass-back design and wireless charging.
