Russian broadband subs base lifts 1% in Q1
The Russian broadband subscriber base reached 31.59 million at the end of the first quarter, according to a study from TMT-Consulting. The figure grew by 1 percent quarter-on-quarter, up from 31.36 million in the fourth quarter of 2016. Market penetration amounted to 56 percent, with market revenues at RUB 32.3 billion. ARPU declined by RUB 2, to RUB 342. The five largest ISPs served 68 percent of the total Russian subscriber base. Rostelecom led with a subscriber base of 11.680 million, up by 1 percent. The customer base of ER-Telecom lifted 6.7 percent to 3.318 million, followed by MTS with 2.870 million users, up by 1.2 percent.
For Beeline and TTK, the figures went to 2.180 million and 1.550 million , up by 0.5 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.
