PTS says regulating monopoly broadband grids cuts prices

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS has published a report concerning economic incentives for broadband network owners and the way that different regulations can affect the results for consumers. The 43-page report1 uses economic theory to describe competition on markets where network owners have considerable power. Among other things, it demonstrates that regulating prices for access to a monopoly network can lead to lower consumer prices.
