Users complain of widespread broadband and TV problems across UK

Virgin Media has appeared to suffer a breakdown after swathes of viewers complained of broadband and TV faults. The company has said it is “aware” of issues after customers bombarded their Twitter page with a series of apparent technical problems. Some were quick to link the problems to the NHS which was targeted in a large-scale cyber attack earlier on Friday.

According to the Down Detector website1 , Virgin Media outages have been reported across London, Nottingham, Bristol, Leeds, Leicester and Manchester.

And Joe Phillips said he was “livid” after his broadband and TV were “down” in Luton.

He said: “Broadband & TV down AGAIN in LU2 area. Absolutely useless company. Also cocked up my billing which hasn’t been sorted.


In response to one Virgin Media customer who said their On Demand service had not worked all week, the company tweeted: “Some complex issues can take some time but we will get this sorted as soon as possible.”

Mirror Online has approached Virgin Media for comment.
