EC launches 2017 edition of European Broadband Awards
The European Commission has announced the launch of the 2017 edition of the European Broadband Awards1, its third annual event aimed at highlighting the successful establishment of broadband infrastructures throughout the continent. The award is open to all types of projects in the categories of innovative models of financing, business and investment; cost reduction and co-investment; socio-economic impact and affordability; openness and competition; plus territorial cohesion in rural and remote areas.
The winners will receive an award from the EC digital economy commissioner Gunther Oettinger at the Broadband Day in Brussels on 20 November. They will also be featured on DG Connect’s website, as well as in its newsletters and in Broadband Europe’s good practice database for projects in high capacity networks.
The deadline for applications is 07 September 2017.
