Bharti Airtel offers 1,000 GB extra broadband data
Number one telecom operator struggling to stay afloat in telecom market with Reliance Jio’s advent.
Mumbai: Bharti Airtel that has been struggling to stay afloat on India’s telecom landscape since Reliance Jio’s advent has unveiled a new free data offer for its broadband customers. The company has shown tremendous losses in its last two quarterly results and that too with its revenues crashing down. The number one telecom operator in terms of subscriber base has now come up with an extra 1,000 GB data for some identified broadband users, according to a report in Business Standard.
“Last week, the company refreshed its broadband plans and offered 100 per cent more data to Bharti Airtel home broadband users under the new plans,” the report said. Faced with a tough competition from Reliance Industries’ telecom arm Reliance Jio, the company has effected many remedial measures. Overhaul of broadband user plans forms part of its new surviving in the business strategy.
Airtel’s new broadband internet plans include a 60 GB of high speed broadband internet data at Rs 899. Earlier the company provided only 30 G data at the same price. Likewise, an Airtel broadband user will now get 90 GB data at a price of Rs 1,099.
Earlier, the plan handed out only 50 GB data.
“The higher Rs 1,299 plan offers 125 GB compared to 75 GB while the premium Rs 1,499 plan offers 160 GB compared to 100 GB earlier,” the BS report added.
