Following the launch of Reliance’s broadband pilot project JioFiber, Airtel has modified its broadband tariff. As per the revised tariff, Airtel broadband will offer double the data for the same price. However, Airtel is loath to tag the tariff revision as Jio effect. According to the telecom giant, the new tariffs have become possible due to its new V-Fiber technology, which is able to deliver superfast broadband speeds up to 100MBPs at homes. With the new tariff, one will get 60GB of data at Rs 899, and 90GB data for Rs 1,099.
Earlier, the Rs 899 and Rs 1,099 plans used to offer 30GB and 50GB of data. The Rs 1,299 plan will now offer 125GB instead of 75GB, the Rs 1,499 plan will offer 160GB instead of 100GB, and the Rs 1,799 plan will offer 220GB of data. All the offers are available in Delhi NCR for now and likely to be available in the rest of the country soon. Reliance Jio recently introduced its broadband service Jio Fiber in six cities. For the preliminary offer, JioFiber is offering 100GB of free data at a speed of 100 mbps for a period of 90 days.
To avail the preview offer, you need to pay Rs 4,500. Once you finish off the allotted data, the broadband speed will reduce to 1 mbps, but you can continue to enjoy free data till the end of the offer period. Though Jio has not promoted JioFiber like it did for its cellular service, the new broadband service is tipped to be officially launched soon.
