Superfast broadband comes to 4057 households and businesses in Martock
RESIDENTS in Martock will be able to enjoy superfast broadband after the installation of fibre cabinets. Businesses and communities in the area and its surrounding villages, such as Bower Hinton, Stoke-sub-Hamdon and Coat will now has access to internet with speeds of up to 80mbps. Around 4057 households and businesses will now be able to order the high speed technology following the construction and connection of 18 fibre broadband cabinets.
Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) are working towards delivering the superfast broadband to around 90 per cent of people by the end of 2016. Cllr David Hall, Deputy Leader of Somerset County Council, said: “This project is making a huge difference to people’s lives – the take-up rates underline just how just how keen businesses and members of the public are to get connected.”
To date, more than 261,000 households and businesses in Devon and Somerset are able to access fibre broadband as a result of the multi million pound CDS programme.
