We have no Ethernet ports at Kunzer exchange: BSNL official
Tangmarg, 06 May: Due to the non-availability of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Ethernet ports, the customers in Tangmarg, Kunzer, Dooru and its adjoining areas are facing immense problems.
The residents also accused BSNL authorities of favoritism while offering broadband connections in the area.
The residents said they are without any internet facility due to state’s ban on the services while broadband is also a distant dream due to non-availability of ports.
“Ethernet cables are not available at Kunzer exchange. BSNL authorities are doing nothing to address the problem,” Khursheed Ahmad, a resident told Rising Kashmir.
He urged BSNL authorities to set up Ethernet ports at its exchange.
“I have been visiting BSNL Exchange for many days for broadband services but I am not getting help from the officials,” he said.
Residents of Dooru Tangmarg said that said they appealed BSNL authorities to install the broadband cable many times.
“Despite being close to Srinagar-Gulmarg road, we have been barred from the services,” residents said.
They also alleged that the officials at the BSNL Exchange provide the service to only blue-eyed while neglecting common people.
“There are agents in the Exchange who take hefty amount of money from blue eyed. They may be getting broadband services from BSNL due to rapport,” they added.
In-charge BSNL Exchange Kunger Firdous Ahmad admitted that there are no Ethernet ports to offer broadband services in the area.
“We don’t have the ports available at our Kunzer Exchange.
We informed the higher ups but they are not providing us ports and cables,” he said.
