Mozilla vs Yahoo

Mozilla and Yahoo have filed complaints[1] against each other regarding the use of Yahoo as Firefox’s default search engine. The legal battle[2] started after Mozilla replaced Yahoo with Google. On 1 December, Yahoo Holdings and Oath filed a complaint against Mozilla – claiming it improperly terminated its agreement with Yahoo.

Mozilla then filed a cross-complaint for breach of contract.

Mozilla said it exercised its contractual right to terminate its agreement with Yahoo, based on a number of factors.

These factors include “doing what’s best for our brand, our effort to provide quality web search, and the broader content experience for our users”.
