Wigtownshire hip-hop artists team up for crowd of 12,000

Two local up-and-coming hip-hop artists from Wigtownshire performed in front of thousands of youngsters at the Dumfries music event, Youth Beatz recently.

Daniel Muir from Newton Stewart and Lewis Schofield from Portpatrick collaborate as Dee and Scope and had the sought-after last session of the show s afternoon acts, performing their own material to a sell out crowd which approached 12,000 at its peak. Both Dee and Scope write their own material, with Dee also doing the mixes which gives them their professional sound. All numbers went down very well with the crowd which was bolstered with a good turnout from Wigtownshire – many of whom were there mainly to support the duo, who also have a large following on YouTube.

The pair are hopeful that this very successful first festival outing will lead to them being offered more and larger festival appearances, with next year s Wickerman event being a particular ambition.
