A series of wireless hubs across the Humberside International Airport (HIA) that the East Yorkshire internet service provider, KC had laid before is finally live now. This facility will help people in the terminus to be online always.

HIA is UK s second largest heliport and has more than 230,000 passengers using it each year. More than 1,000 flights operate each month from and to offshore gas platforms.

According to the Account Manager at KC, more than 1,000 people have gone online using the WiFi service during the first month of its introduction and this by itself is a good sign.

More than 70% of the traffic comes from east Yorkshire and Hull regions, says HIA s Commercial Director, Paul Litten.

WiFi access will also help to direct people towards HIA naturally rather than travelling to other areas.

While people largely youngsters are online most of the time and also download vast quantities of data on their devices, an airport without WiFi service must create frustration, he added.
