Broadband service for Northern Lincolnshire launches

A launch event is taking place at Forest Pines Hotel near Scunthorpe on 7 October 2013 between 9am and noon to celebrate the signing a contract with BT for the rollout of superfast broadband.

At the event, people in North and North East Lincolnshire can find out if they are included in the rollout and what actions need to be taken to receive superfast broadband.

BT Openreach will be on hand to explain how the technology used helps to create the superfast broadband network.

A promotion of the business support programme will be on offer to Small and Medium Enterprises.

Available to both businesses and residents of North Lincolnshire, the scheme is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Broadband Delivery UK and North Lincolnshire Council and will see over 7m invested in upgrading the existing infrastructure.

It will be available through major internet service providers including Talktalk, Plusnet and Sky Broadband.

The business support team will also be on hand to explain how superfast broadband can benefit your business.

Small and Medium Enterprises will be able to find out if they are eligible to receive up to 2,000 of consultancy advice for free.

The Northern Lincolnshire Broadband Programme is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013.

The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
