Superfast Businesses

This week we would like to share with you a new report commissioned by BT into the potential economic benefits for small and medium sized businesses through the take up and use of fibre based broadband.

Studying various sectors of businesses across Northern Ireland, the report looks at the potential benefits for companies within each sector.

Here in Wiltshire we are progressing through the initial planning stages of our Superfast broadband roll-out bringing fibre based broadband to our businesses and residents.

If you are running a business in Wiltshire now is a very good time to think about how access to the internet and having an online presence can be beneficial. We have a series of guides here2 to help you get started.

Wiltshire Council also has a wealth of information online aimed to support business here3. Wiltshire Council are also working with Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce4 to deliver a range of business support services to start-up and existing businesses through the Wiltshire Business Support Service .

Pre-start clinics are available for anyone thinking of starting up their own business.

Business Managers will be providing a series of Running a Successful Business workshops, offering mentoring to new businesses and promoting a programme of networking events including access to free business advice.
