Rock-based Sharp s Brewery has become one of the latest businesses to connect to superfast fibre optic broadband.

Fibre broadband is now available to more than 1,100 homes and businesses in Rock and nearby Pityme and St Miniver and this figure is expected to grow to more than 2,000 for the Trebetherick exchange area as engineers complete the roll-out.

Sarah Allcock, head of finance for Sharp s, said: Before superfast, we consistently encountered issues with our connection, the servers kept going down and the internet was always running very slowly.

This has all changed with superfast coming into place and our new fibre connection is regularly providing 40Mbps, a colossal difference which now gives us the benefit of a more reliable and consistent service, regardless of the number of people using the internet at the same time.

Dan Rogerson, MP for North Cornwall, added: Superfast Cornwall is helping to boost the local economy and support jobs in our area, and I would encourage anyone that thinks they could benefit from superfast broadband to get in touch.

Residents and businesses interested in connecting to superfast broadband can find out if the new service is available in their area by checking their line here1.
