Manchester Day pictures for prizes!

The Manchester Day Photography competition will separate the David Baileys from the snappy sids, finding the photos that best capture the Parade.

Thousands of brilliant Manchester Day moments have been captured by the public during the first three years of the parade and this year will no doubt produce even more.

Cllr Pat Karney, Chair of Manchester Day, said: “The great thing about the competition is seeing the parade through the eyes of the crowd. Everyone sees the parade differently and we get some remarkable pictures sent in.”

The winning photographs will need to capture the size, vibrancy, colour and movement of the parade against the backdrop of Manchester city centre and the huge crowds that will line the streets.

Cllr Rosa Battle, Manchester City Council s executive member for culture and leisure, said: “There s some top prizes on offer for the best photo and any budding photographers in the crowd could be in with a chance of winning. The important thing is capturing the parade in all its glory.”

Three lucky amateur snappers will win a bevy of top prizes donated by principle sponsors BT, including a top BT YouView package worth 650, including box, broadband, TV subscription and BT Sport for one year.

Also up for grabs for second and third place, a new iPad mini and a year s subscription to BT Broadband plus with the fantastic BT Sport.
